You can complete this work in any way which suits you - for example in your exercise book or on a document.
On the classroom there is a google doc assignment for the story on Wednesday and a quiz assignment for the reading comprehension on Thursday. You may use these to complete your work if you want.
Monday
Look at the picture and think about these questions.
- How do you think the huskies feel?
- How would you feel if you were the man in the photo?
- Where do you think the man might be going?
- What would happen if the ice on the frozen lake cracked?
Tuesday
Look at the picture again. Imagine you could see underneath the ice on the lake. Draw or describe what it is like.
Think about:
- Are there any animals?
- What else could there be? An old wrecked boat? Sharp rocks?
- How deep is it?
- Is it dark?
- What could you hear?
Wednesday
Write a short story where the ice cracks and they fall into the lake below the ice.
Make sure you include lots of description and how the man is feeling.
The journey had gone well so far. The strong huskies were working hard together and pulling along the sledge quickly across the ice. His thick, furry clothes kept him warm as the icy cold wind whipped around him. Suddenly, a loud creaking came from the ice below. He panicked.

Look at the pictures, videos and text about Jason Kenny. Can you find the answers to some of these questions:

- When was he born? (Can you work out how old he is?)
- What sport does he compete in?
- Why is he famous?
- How old was he when he first rode a bike?
- Who did he marry?

Think about what you are thankful for during this time. Make a list of all of the things you can think of. Write a prayer to show how thankful you are. There will be a google doc that you can type in to.

Read through the google slides or watch one of the videos about positivity.
What things make you feel good?
You can draw a picture and add some speech bubbles of some positive things you could say to other people.
You can then place your picture up somewhere in your house to remind you to say positive things to people.
