This half term we have been making our Lentern Promises and getting ready for Easter. We know the colours on our Holy Table and at church are purple. We had our Easter play and we had an Easter bonnet parade. All the children took part.
We gathered lots of food to donate to The Cornerstones charity. The Gift Team came to collect the baskets and then delivered them to Cornerstones. They were very grateful.
In Literacy we looked at poems and we learned what we can find in a pond by reading the story of ‘Come on Daisy’. We visited our school pond to see what we could find.
In Numeracy we have been doing lots of counting of different objects and practising showing numbers in lots of different ways.
We also celebrated World Book Day and Shrove Tuesday. We took part in Science Week. We carried out experiments with sweets and other food.
Spring Term 1
We started this half term talking about and celebrating the Ephinany and finished the half term with a trip to church.
In literacy we focussed on story ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. We met the troll and sent him a letter.
This half term we have been learning about the story ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt. We have had lots of opportunities to read the story maps and act out the story.
On the lead up to Christmas, we learnt about Advent and we performed the Christmas Nativity.
Autumn Term 1
In literacy we have been learning story maps, telling our own stories, and sharing them.
In RE we have been learning about welcoming people into the church and how we can welcome each other. We visited the Prayer Garden in our school and thought about what God means to us. We said a prayer thanking God for loving us and always being there for us.
Topic - Ourselves
We have been learning about ourselves and how to keep healthy. We designed and made fruit kebabs with our favourite fruits. We enjoyed eating them.
Black History Month
We celebrated Black History Month with dancing, listening to music, playing instruments and designing our own masks.
