The Nursery team

Following children’s interests-

This week, one of the children found a caterpillar whilst exploring outside.  We brought it inside to look at using magnifying glasses.  We then helped the children make a house for the caterpillar, they made caterpillar friends with the play dough and we also read the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.

Our First Week Back to School

We have had a lot of fun in our first week of Nursery, as some of our children have started school.  Children have loved exploring and learning.  It is lovely to be back working with the children!

Puppet Show

This year in the Nursery we are following called ‘In the moment planning’.  This is where we follow what the children are interested in and then plan around it and extend their learning through play.  Here is a great example where we made a puppet show.  The children started to explore the puppets in the reading area and enjoyed pretending to make them speak.  The teacher suggested making a show.  Together they made a puppet show with a box, watched a show on you tube, wrote out tickets and even used the cones from the creative area to make popcorn! Lots of learning and fun happening together.
