Chair of Govenors
My name is Glyn Young. I am Chair of Governors at The Divine Mercy and have been the chair since we opened in 2009. My background is in Education. I spent all my teaching career in Manchester and was Head teacher of two secondary schools and Principal of a sixth form college. There are 14 members of the Governing body which meets once a term. The Resources committee which deals with finance, staff and building also meets termly. The curriculum committee meets six times a year. Its role is to monitor standards and ensure that all our children are being given the best possible education.
We have strong links with parents and have a dedicated team of staff to support this.
|The school is a Catholic school and promotes the beliefs and values of the Church while at the same time reflecting the various community groups which make up our all inclusive school.
Many of our governors come into school on a regular basis linking with staff and helping with reading. Although our role as governors is strategic we work with with all the staff offering support. I come into school each week helping with reading and meeting parents in an informal setting. If you need to contact me, you can do so though school.
As Governors we want to encourage you to support your child and all our children.
The Divine Mercy is a Roman Catholic Primary School which reflects the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Gospels.
With Jesus in our hearts and the children at the centre we welcome and reach out to our diverse community in the Christian spirit.
We value and nurture everyone, inspiring them to reach their full potential through the education and formation our school brings about.
