PE

Our PE days in 3D are: Wednesday and Friday.

You need to come into school wearing your PE kit with your school jumper.

Homework

Your child’s weekly homework is to read their home-reader book, practice their weekly spellings and practice their times tables:

Reading

Your child has been given a day of the week when they will change their reading book and read with an adult in school. If you are not sure which day this is please ask your teacher.

  • When they have finished the book they complete a book review sheet.
  • They have a reading record which needs to be filled out with a comment by an adult or older sibling who hears them read. In addition to listening to your child read aloud it is also important to have discussions and ask questions about the book to help your child’s understanding of what they read. Example questions you could ask are included on the additional sheet.

Learning spellings and times tables:

We will do a spelling test and times table test every Friday. This half term we are going to focus on practicing the 2s, 5s and 10 times tables from Year 2 before starting to learn the 3 times tables.

Date of test:

17.09.21

24.09.21

Your child has taken home information about different strategies  for practising spellings.

It is good to use a few different ways - find the ones which work for you.

The children also have Times Table Rock Stars and Spelling Shed accounts which they can use to practise spellings and times tables. Please ask you need help logging in.
