Roman Catholic Primary School

‘with Jesus in our hearts and the Children at the centre, we welcome and reach out to our diverse community in the Christian Spirit’

Welcome to the Early Years!

Early Years covers children who are in our Nursery and Reception classes.

We have a wonderful learning environment for the children to explore to help them develop their knowledge and skills. The children have access to both the inside and outside classrooms when ever they want.

You can see a "parent friendly" version of what we learn about in the Early Years by downloading the pdf at the bottom of this page or by searching for "what to expect when".  This document also gives you ideas about what you can do to support your child to learn from birth to five.
Check out our Reception Blog to see some of the fun activities we have been doing. Each week we will let you know some of the activities we have planned for the following week and we also add some ideas that you can use to help your child to prepare. Click here or simply search for "tdmreceptionblog".

We also use the Interactive Learning Diary to enter observations about each child. You can see pictures, observations and what part of the curriculum they worked on.  You can even send us your own observations about any interesting activities you have been doing out of school. You can access the ILD by clicking here or by searching for "ild login".

In Reception our children also have access to an online reading website, we allocate books on this website for each child individually to help them learn to read, you can access this website by clicking here or by searching for "the bug club login".

A copy of the presentation slides from our parent/carer meeting is below.

Parents, please remember that children should be back in school on Monday 30th October, after the half term break - thanks!
