Welcome to the Divine Mercy RC Primary School

The Divine Mercy is a fantastic new Catholic school in the heart of Moss Side. We are a result of the amalgamation of Bishop Bilsborrow RC Primary School and St Edwards RC Primary School. We opened our state of the art school in September 2009 to provide 21st century learning opportunities for the local community.

Please call in and visit us, we look forward to welcoming you to The Divine Mercy RC Primary School very soon.

Bishop Brain's visit

|

On Wednesday 19th October Bishop Brain will be visiting our school. Father George has this message for us about the Bishop's visit:

We Welcome our Bishop.

Our Bishop is visiting school on Wednesday 19th October 2011. It is a
joyful occasion for us to welcome him and receive his blessings.

Dear children do you know what a Bishop is?

Bishop is the title given to an ecclesiastical dignitary who has the
fulness of the Priesthood to rule a diocese as its chief pastor in due
submission to the primacy of The Pope. Bishops are the successors to the
Apostles of Jesus Christ. In hierachy of order a Bishop possesses power
superior to Priests and Deacons. In the hierachy of jurisdiction, by
Christs will, they are appointed for the government of one portion of the
faithful. The Bishop is the one who leads people to God. He is also a
teacher and teaches about God.

We are waiting for Bishop Terence Brian's visit to see him and talk to him
and learn from him. We receive and welcome His Lordship most sincerley as
he comes on an official visitation.

Father George.

Yr 5/6 Visit to St Bede's

|
Posted: 26th May 2011

Over the last year and a half, students from St Bede’s sixth form have run a mentoring project at The Divine Mercy working with pupils in upper KS2 to support them in class.  As a special treat for the last session of the year, children involved in the project went on a visit to St Bede’s. They took part in a quiz trail around the school and were given snacks and gifts from the school.  “I had a great afternoon!” said Georgia from 6D. “It was really good to look around the school and to see what it is like.”

We are delighted with the Salford Diocese report on our school which judged us as a "Good Catholic School with many Outstanding features."
